CapCut is a popular mobile video editing app that help you to create videos on your mobile device. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced video editor, this tutorial will guide you through the basic steps to get started with CapCut on your mobile phone. Please note that the app's features and interface may have changed since my last knowledge update in September 2021, so make sure to check for any updates or changes in the app.
Step 1: Download and Install CapCut
Open your device's app store (Google Play Store for Android or Apple App Store for iOS).
In the search bar, type "CapCut" and press "Search."
Find the CapCut app by Bytedance Pte. Ltd. and tap on it.
Tap the "Install" button (or "Get" for iOS) to download and install the app.
Step 2: Launch the App
Once CapCut is installed, locate its icon on your home screen or app drawer, then tap on it to open the app.
Step 3: Create a New Project
When you first open CapCut, you'll see the home screen with options to start a new project or access existing ones. Lets create a new video here.
Tap the "+ New Project" button.
Step 4: Import Your Media
To start editing, you need to import the videos and photos you want to work with:
Tap the "Media" button to access your device's gallery.
Select the videos and photos you want to use in your project by tapping on them.
Tap the "Confirm" or "Add" button (depending on your device) to import the selected media.
Step 5: Editing Your Video
CapCut is giving you a variety of editing tools and awesome features. Let me goid you through basic editing tasks:
- 5.1 Trim and Split Clips
Tap on a video clip in your timeline to select it.
Use the trim handles at the beginning and end of the clip to shorten or lengthen it.
To split a clip into multiple segments, position the playhead (the red line) where you want to split the clip and tap the "Split" button.
- 5.2 Add Transitions
Tap the "Transition" button, To add stunning transitions between clips
Choose a transition style from the available options and drag it between two clips on the timeline.
- 5.3 Add Text and Effects
To add text to your video simply Tap the "Text" button.
Customize the text, font, color, and animation options.
To add effects, stickers, or music, explore the corresponding buttons and options in the app.
- 5.4 Adjust Speed
To change the speed of a video clip, select the clip on the timeline.
Tap the "Speed" button and adjust the speed slider as desired.
- 5.5 Apply Filters
To apply filters or adjust the color grading, tap the "Filter" button.
Select a filter or adjust the settings to achieve the desired look.
- 5.6 Preview Your Project
Tap the "Play" button to preview your video and make any necessary adjustments.
Step 6: Save and Export
Once you're satisfied with your video:
Tap the "Export" or "Save" button.
Choose the export settings, including video quality and resolution.
Now Tap the "Export" button to save video to your device.
Step 7: Share Your Video
After exporting, you can share your video on various social media platforms or save it to your device's gallery.
